Lil Red Table
This little thing was a $20 score from an estate
sale in Huntington Beach California.
I always look for things with "good bones" and
I knew I could turn a profit on this bad boy.
I have 3 boys, a husband and 2 dogs so I don't want new stuff because it doesn't withstand the test of time like older stuff. I also can't justify spending a ton of money on things that my kids will destroy.
A few coats of Annie Sloan Chalk Paint, a few hours of time in my garage and a couple glasses of wine later I created this sassy little red table.
Sadly my profits on this cutie went out the window when I decided I couldn't part with it.
I shook things up a bit by using a water based poly top coat to provide some added protection to the area which will likely see some damage. The poly made the red a little "too red" so I used dark wax over the poly to deepen the color and it provided an additional layer of protection by default. This also dulled the shine to match the waxed finish on the rest of the piece.
A little ASCP in Graphite with dark wax on the knob and we were good to go!
